L’articolo indeterminativo is used to indicate a single or unspecified object/noun. Its equivalent in English is “a/an”.
For example:
“Chiamo un medico” (un medico, a doctor, in general who we don’t know)
The indefinite article is used only for singular nouns |
masculine: un, uno feminine: una, un’ |
Un : used for all masculine nouns followed by a consonant (un gatto). It NEVER has an apostrophe before masculine nouns starting with a vowel. (un amico)
