L’idea per rilanciare turismo e cultura e riscoprire la lentezza nasce nel comune di Macchiagodena, un borgo del Molise, in provincia di Isernia. Basterà pagare consegnando un libro, magari il proprio preferito, per ricevere in cambio soggiorni gratis. Il comune mette a disposizione stanza in Bed and Breakfast e Agriturismi. Qualsiasi tipo di volume è valido! Un romanzo, un libro di poesie, un libro per bambini…

Il progetto si chiama “Genius Loci” e la partenza è prevista per la fine del mese di Giugno, lo slogan è “Portami un libro e ti regalo l’anima”. E’ anche uno scambio culturale tra il paese e le persone provenienti da altre regioni

Per partecipare basterà contattare l’amministrazione comunale e farsi indicare posti e disponibilità. Se il numero di richieste lo permetterà, si potrà soggiornare gratuitamente anche per più di una notte.

L’obiettivo del progetto è di far riscoprire questo bel borgo montano e aiutare ristoratori, bar e produttori locali, grazie ai turisti in vacanze che potranno assaporare i prodotti alimentari nei bar e nelle aziende agricole sul territorio. Si vuole inoltre fare conoscere anche il territorio locale, la cultura e le bellezze del Molise: il sito archeologico romano di Saepinun percorsi naturalistici nei boschi, o il Museo internazionale della campana ad Agnone.

I libri che i turisti doneranno alla città saranno depositati nella piazzetta della lettura davanti al Castello. Si chiede ai turisti di lasciare al loro arrivo un pensiero sul loro soggiorno, spiegando come mai hanno scelto il borgo, e alla partenza raccontare l’esperienza che hanno vissuto.

Questi paragrafi poi verranno uniti in una raccolta per coronare il progetto e i suoi risultati, per condividere e ricordare lo scambio culturale tra il borgo della cultura e le tante persone ospitate in cambio di un libro.

The idea to relaunch tourism and culture and rediscover slowness was born in the municipality of Macchiagodena, a village in Molise, in the province of Isernia. Just pay by giving a book, perhaps your favorite, to receive free stays in exchange. The municipality offers rooms in Bed and Breakfast and Farmhouses. Any type of volume is valid! A novel, a poetry book, a children’s book …

The project is called “Genius Loci” and the start date is scheduled for the end of June. The slogan is “Bring me a book and I’ll give you my soul”. It is also a cultural exchange between the village and people from other regions

To participate, simply contact the municipal administration and ask for places to stay and availability. If the number of requests allows it, you can stay for free even for more than one night.

The goal of the project is to rediscover this beautiful mountain village and help restaurateurs, bars and local producers, thanks to tourists on holidays who will be able to taste food products in bars and farms in the area. They also want to make known the local territory, the culture and the beauties of Molise: the Roman archaeological site of Saepinun nature trails in the woods, or the International Bell Museum in Agnone.

The books that tourists donate to the city will be deposited in the reading square in front of the Castle. Tourists are asked to leave a thought about their stay upon their arrival, explaining why they have chosen the village, and to tell about the experience they have lived upon departure.

These paragraphs will then be united in a collection to crown the project and its results, to share and remember the cultural exchange between the village of culture and the many people hosted in exchange for a book.

Un po’ di storia di Macchiagodena / Some history of Macchiagodena

Macchiagodena fu fondata probabilmente nel X secolo. Se ne hanno le prime notizie nel 964, quando il toponimo era Maccla de Godino, evoluto nel Duecento in Maccla Godina quando erano i Cantelmo a dominare su questa parte della regione.

Il castello costituisce la principale testimonianza del passato storico della comunità: costruito sulla roccia, è dotato di torrioni cilindrici ed ha subito numerosi interventi, alcuni dei quali ne hanno modificato in parte la struttura; la fondazione risale all’età longobarda o a quella angioina.

L’opera più importante nel campo dell’architettura sacra è la chiesa di S. Nicola, antecedente al XVII secolo.

Carta dell’identità gastronomica del paese è sicuramente la polenta – piatto povero, ma ricco di tradizioni. Altro prodotto di eccellenza è il tartufo, presente sia lo scorzone nero che, in minori quantità il bianco. Questo pregiato prodotto del sottobosco è divenuto protagonista dei piatti della tradizione.

Macchiagodena was probably founded in the 10th century. We have the first news of it in 964, when the toponym was Maccla de Godino, which evolved in the 13th century into Maccla Godina when the Cantelmo family dominated this part of the region.

The castle is the main testimony of the community’s historical past: built on rock, it is equipped with cylindrical towers and has undergone numerous interventions, some of which have partially modified the structure; the foundation dates back to the Lombard or Angevin age.

The most important work in the field of sacred architecture is the church of S. Nicola, dating from before the 17th century.

The country’s gastronomic identity card is certainly polenta – a poor dish, but rich in traditions. Another product of excellence is the truffle, you can find both the black scorzone and, in smaller quantities, the white. This precious product of the undergrowth has become the protagonist of traditional dishes.

Panchine a forma di libro per celebrare la cultura / Book-shaped benches to celebrate culture

Il castello di Macchiagodena è la sede nazionale del network “I borghi della lettura”.

Nell’ambito del progetto di ristrutturazione e valorizzazione del castello sono state acquistate sette panchine letterarie a forma di libro da collocare all’interno del castello stesso, o nello spazio adiacente, al termine dei lavori. L’obiettivo è quello di promuovere il territorio attraverso la cultura ed in particolare la lettura.

Delle sette panchine una è dedicata a Gianni Rodari con due belle poesie per ragazzi, una al Molise con una struggente poesia del compianto Amerigo Iannacone, una riporta una celebre frase dello scrittore francese Daniel Pennac. Altre due, invece, sono dedicate agli articoli 1 e 3 della Costituzione Italiana. Le ultime due, infine, sono dedicate a Dante Alighieri per celebrare i 700 anni dalla sua morte.

In attesa della loro collocazione definitiva, le panchine sono state momentaneamente collocate nella piazza principale, nella piazzetta all’ingresso est del paese ed all’incrocio di Via Principe Umberto.

The Macchiagodena castle is the national headquarters of the network “I borghi dellaettura”.

As part of the castle renovation and enhancement project, seven book-shaped literary benches were purchased to be placed inside the castle itself, or in the adjacent space, at the end of the works. The goal is to promote the area through culture and in particular reading.

Of the seven benches, one is dedicated to Gianni Rodari with two beautiful poems for children, one to Molise with a poignant poem by the late Amerigo Iannacone, one shows a famous phrase by the French writer Daniel Pennac. Two others, however, are dedicated to articles 1 and 3 of the Italian Constitution. Finally, the last two are dedicated to Dante Alighieri to celebrate the 700th anniversary of his death.

Pending their final location, the benches have been temporarily placed in the main square, the small square at the east entrance of the town and at the intersection of Via Principe Umberto.
